TEKsystems® excels at rapidly deploying highly skilled and cleared technical professionals in an extremely short time frame. As such, we have refined our ability to recruit, screen, and retain this talent into a proven and replicable methodology called the Successful Placement ProcessSM (SPP).
Our SPP is comprised of critical elements including:

For many of our DoD and government clients we also add additional steps to acquire, update, or verify the technical professional’s security clearance. The extra steps we take to identify, screen, and monitor the performance of our technical professionals set us apart from our competition, and allow us to rehire and build long-term relationships with top performing technical professionals.
Recruiting the Best in the Field
TEKsystems’ proactive recruiting philosophy provides us with a pool of pre-qualified employees to draw from when we receive your requirements. Our team is constantly
recruiting and pre-screening individuals, many of whom are retiring from or leaving military or government service.
By specifically recruiting high quality technical professionals and by conducting interviews, reference checks, and testing in advance, TEKsystems spends time on the front end, in order to rapidly fill your job requirements with the highest quality contract labor on the back end.
When hiring employees, our recruiters utilize the following resources:
Military Recruiting: We have a specific program to recruit highly qualified military personnel with “in demand” technical skills. We help service members transition into a civilian career and place their hard won skills and discipline to work for you.
Civil Service and Government Recruiting: In a program similar to our military recruiting efforts, we actively seek out and recruit highly qualified civil servants with valuable technical and professional skills. Once they have passed our screening and testing process, we then offer these professionals rewarding job opportunities doing contract work with our Government Services.
thingamajob.com®: Our proprietary Web site on which job seekers can find jobs and post resumes. thingamajob.com is an industry leader in providing a platform for job seekers to meet, engage, and get employed.
TeamTrak: We utilize a state-of-the-art computerized resume retrieval system to assist our recruiters in locating the necessary personnel when they are needed. This system, which contains over 7 million total candidates, is growing every day.
Networking: We network extensively with our current and former technical professionals, our clients, and with each other to find qualified applicants.
Referrals: Many of our candidates are referrals from current technical professionals.
Niche Recruiting Resources: Our recruiters have access to premium and industry-specific Web sites, and subscribe to professional journals and publications to identify potential candidates.
Extensive Screening
Our screening process follows rigid guidelines to ensure that we only provide qualified candidates to our clients. We will present candidates that:
- Have met with a TEKsystems representative in person
- Have the required skills for the position
- Have satisfactory references from previous employers
- Have been briefed on the position and are interested in the opportunity
In addition to these screening practices, on request of the client TEKsystems will also:
- Conduct a background check through Kroll Background America
- Administer a drug test through Qualysis
- Pre-screen and clear candidates and brief them for classified contracts.
Because a fair percentage of our government clients require security clearances, we actively recruit former military and government service members who already hold security clearances, as this is much more cost efficient to our clients. But we still maintain the ability to process update and maintain clearances through the Defense Investigative Service.
Skill testing before hiring employees
Technical professionals will either have proved their skills during previous placements or will have tested and verified the technical skills through our partnership with Brainbench™. This is in addition to a phone interview and in-person interview. So you can be sure you’re getting an employee with the technical and interpersonal skills necessary for the job. We also offer ongoing technical training and distance learning for our technical professionals.
Performance monitoring
TEKsystems provides full support for our technical professionals and monitors their performance on a continual basis to ensure we are providing our clients with the highest levels of service in the staffing industry. A TEKsystems representative will contact the hiring manager after the first day, week, and month that a technical professional is on the job. This regular communication between the client manager and TEKsystems promotes resolution of issues and allows us to recognize and re-hire our best performers.
